We all are aware of how luxurious the Indian Wedding can get. Gold, silver and even diamonds are an obnoxious show during this occasion. And there is no running away from that. Infact Indian weddings are an excuse for most of us to dig into our jewellery boxes and bring out those expensive gold, silver and diamond-laden jewellery that is usually stashed away for such occasions. If you still haven't figured out what is the best jewellery to wear to an Indian wedding then I hope to help you solve this very confusing decision. Yes, we do know that an Indian family or even an individual loves piling up on the jewellery. Be it gold, silver, diamond or pearl, every Indian family now has atleast one of these jewellery metals and precious stones. Ideally, the base rule of every Indian wedding game is to wear jewellery that fits and matches your outfit. For example, Gold and Diamond jewellery go very well with traditional Indian attire like lehengas, saris etc. Whereas on the other hand if you are planning to wear a western outfit then you can even add silver and pearls to the list.

One thing you must have noticed is the fact that not all jewellery looks nice on each and every dress. A lot has to do with the design of your outfit. For instance, if you are planning on wearing gold jewellery with a western attire then you need to make sure that the design of the jewellery is more contemporary and simple, as opposed to the grandeur of traditional Indian jewellery. For western outfits, look at gold or silver jewellery that is not too heavy with intricate designs. Instead, a rather simple looking pendant on a delicate chain, with matching pair of earrings would suit the outfit perfectly. If you are planning on wearing a saree then exquisitely designed traditional looking Indian gold and silver jewellery, encrusted with precious stones like diamonds and rubies, is an excellent choice. The traditional Indian jewellery market is now going though a lot of change and what was once a culture that preferred only the real stuff, is all-changing. You will find a lot of imitation/artificial jewellery in the market these days. Fused metals, artificial pearls, colored gems, you name it and you will find all of these being used heavily in some exquisite looking imitation jewellery. We are not really sure if its for the better, but it really makes one thing possible. And that is that you don't have to spend or empty your entire savings just so that your jewellery looks heavy and appropriate for a big fat Indian wedding. Another factor that is driving-in this change is the fact that gold and silver are at their highest in terms of current market price. And as a result, it's not just the new entrants, a few traditional and long-established jewellers too have gone the imitation jewellery route. Not surprisingly, it's the demand for imitation jewellery that drove them to it. To conclude, with imitation jewellery adorning the look and feel of a real piece of gold, silver or diamond jewellery, my consensus is that, "If you can afford gold, silver and diamond go for it, if not there is always an imitation that can keep you equally happy".
